Born on May 22, 1907 in Etterbeek, Georges Remi signed many illustrations for scout magazines in his youth under the name of Hergé. It was on January 10, 1929 that he gave birth to the reporter Tintin in the pages of the Petit Vingtième, a youth supplement for a Belgian Catholic daily. His hero very quickly becomes the most emblematic character of French-speaking comics. Curious about everything that made up his century, Hergé collected images and mythical and historical signs. Through his art of drawing and his science of narration, he gave European comics their letters of nobility. He died on March 3, 1983 in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert.
